Fathom Distribution is both an on-line retailer and wholesaler (to better independent record stores, worldwide) and of non-mainstream music. We specialize in, but are not exclusive to electronic and experimental music.
Fathom is run by Ibrahim Khider, writer for various publications both on-line and in print since 2000 with an emphasis on music journalism. Prior to that he worked as a buyer for a now-defunct music megastore chain.

Though the music industry is currently being eviscerated, there will always be those who believe in supporting artists who make music we enjoy. Such individuals appreciate the higher sound resolution a CD, vinyl record, or high-quality digital file can offer as well as cool packaging that enhances the connection between artist and fan. Such packaging can then be shared with friends, properly archived, and appreciated by those who truly care about what s/he listens to in a context the artist creates. Fathom Distribution aims to connect listeners and artists by bringing international talent to Canada, and Canadian talent to the world. We also are looking for individuals and retailers interested in doing sustainable business at fair trade to the artist. Fathom Distribution aims to achieve this by subscribing to the philosophy of ’stop selling and start helping’ in order to help music fans embark on her/his own ‘adventures in audio’.
