Heiki (pronounced ‘hey-key’) is a veteran of the Toronto electronic music scene. Since 1987, Heiki Sillaste has released an impressive catalog of well over 45 synthesizer-based records and made over 150 compilation appearances. Heiki’s brand new 12 track album, Paper + Sound is his first solo album and incorporates elements of techno, ambient, dub, and jazz. The first half features spacey, minimal deep techno with an emphasis on sub-woofing bass lines and melodic atmospheres. The second half explores slower, dubby downtempo rhythms with an emphasis on sub-woofing bass lines and melodic soundscapes. Heiki’s collaborative and remix work is wide-reaching, and includes work with the likes of Solvent, Rapoon, Zoviet France and reggae stars like Michael Rose and Musical Sniper.
